ASUS PadFone gels quite nicely in the category of hybrid tablet-laptops, the tablets or laptops that you could have only seen in hi-tech Sci-fiction movie. If you have not heard about this device earlier then I must tell you that ASUS the famous Taiwanese company have made a highly innovative product that can give you the benefit of three devices in one. It can be transformed into a tablet, Smartphone and a notebook. The concept is very unique and interesting, the phone can be docked into the larger tablet and the tablet becomes a larger screen to the Smartphone. Moreover you can also connect the dock (tablet) to an external bundled keyboard to use the device as a notebook.

The ASUS PadFone runs on the latest Android 4.0 Ice-cream Sandwich (ICS) OS. The tons of features that the phone incorporates makes it the best buy in the mid-range Smartphone’s.

Asus Padfone

The Company has already launched the Phone in Taiwan and is expected to launch in other European countries as well by the end of May 2012. ASUS PadFone will cost around €850, including the Smartphone, tablet, stylus and the keyboard dock. But you also have an option to buy only the Smartphone which would reduce the total cost by €150. The Company has also unleashed its plan to launch an LTE enabled version of ASUS PadFone that is expected to launch by the end of September 2012. Now let’s have a close look at the tablet features.

PadFone design and Looks:

The Smartphone has the dimensions of 128mm x 65.5mm x 9.2mm weighing around 129grams. The tablet (dock) has dimensions of 273mmx177mmx13.55mm weighing 724 grams. There is also a headphone jack and a volume controller on the left hand side of the PadFone Station. If you turn the tablet (dock) upside down you could see a charging port and the keyboard docking port. The PadFone dock also has additional set of connectivity ports and two USB ports along with a data card reader. The phone has a volume control button on the right side. On the left side there is a HDMI port available very near to the USB port on the same side. The design of the PadFone and the PadFone station is based on Zen design. This design is categorised by a series of concentric circles that are easily observable on the back cover of the phone and the PadFone station. This design gives the user a more comfortable grip to prevent against dropping of the phone due to lose grip.

Display and Accessories:

ASUS PadFone has a 4.3″ dHD Super AMOLED touch screen display that has the ability of capacitive multi touch. The screen resolution of the PadFone is 960 x 540. The display is protected with a tough Gorilla Glass covering, which makes the screen scratch proof. The Super AMOLED display enhances the user experience by delivering a very high quality, high definition display even in well lit conditions.

ASUS Padfone and Padfone Dock

The PadFone dock has a 10.1″ WXGA TFT screen. The screen of PadFone dock is also incorporated with a capacitive multi touch panel. The tablet screen is also covered with tough Gorilla Glass covering.

Another concrete feature of the PadFone is that its saves time while transferring the work done on the Smartphone to the PadFone station. In the transfer there are no data synchronization operations involved and this is the reason that the transfer time is as low as zero. The transfer is done automatically in a very low time because the ASUS PadFone acts as a core ingredient of the PadFone station. This in layman language means that as soon as you insert your PadFone in the PadFone station the screen of the PadFone station automatically displays whatever the phone was showing. No need of sync or restarts required. Same also applies for the transferring work from PadFone station to PadFone.

The second great feature of the device is its stylus. The stylus can perform a dual task, apart from being a regular stylus it also works as a wireless headset. This allows you to receive calls even if your phone is inside the PadFone station. Many times it happens that you keep your phone stylus and forget everything about it, but the new PadFone also has a feature that initiates a beep if it realises that the stylus is not in close vicinity.

Accessories in Asus Padfone

ASUS PadFone Processor and Connectivity:

The ASUS PadFone is power packed with QUALCOMM SnapDragon Dual Core processor clocked at 1.5GHz. The phone also has an on chip QUALCOMM Adreno 225GPU and 1 GB of RAM dedicated for Graphics processing.

The device also has many sensors like Gravity Sensor, Light Sensor, Motion Sensor, Vibration Sensor, Gyroscope, E-compass and a proximity sensor. For internet connectivity the device supports Wi-Fi connectivity and HSPA+ Networks. The PadFone also has USB ports and mini HDMI ports that enable you to share data between devices.

Camera and Storage Capabilities:

ASUS PadFone has an 8 megapixel camera, back-illuminated CMOS sensor with an auto focus feature and an LED flash. The phone can also record video footages in High Definition at 1080p in MPEG format.

The PadFone also has a front facing camera of 0.3 megapixels. PadFone Station has an additional 1.3 megapixel camera.

ASUS have rolled out the phone in many variants like 16GB, 32GB and 64Gb. ASUS also gives an additional space of 32 Gb as Web storage space to its users for a period of three years.

Asus PadFone inside the PadFone Dock

Battery Backup:

PadFone has a 1520mAh Lithium battery that can give the device a talk time of 940 minutes and a standby time of 370 hours. The PadFone Station has a battery of 6600mAh.

There is yet another interesting feature in the phone that when the PadFone is docked inside the tablet then the talk time can increases by 64 hours.

Our Verdict:

Of course buying this device is better and cheaper than buying all the three devices separately. The features that the phone incorporates make it a best buy among the other midrange phones.

Telmoco Development Labs a Kerala (India) based company have come up with yet another Tablet PC, “Attitude Daksha”. This is a new feature that they have introduced in Attitude Daksha, older touch screen phones didn’t have this capability.

The tablet has got two cameras, the rear one is of 2.0 Megapixel and the front camera is 0.3 megapixels. It is also said that the company offers an option to upgrade the front camera. Installous 4 is one of the most excellent ways to download free apps on your iOS device. But before installing it on your device you need to have a jailbroken iOS device with Cydia installed. Today in this post I will be guiding you on how to download Installous 4 and its features.

What is Installous?

iOS is one of the best operating system’s available in market. Its stability and the ability to support tons of apps makes it so popular among the users. But the thing that bothers me the most is that most of the nice apps come with a price tag. And as we all know, we love the things that are free of cost and this is the reason why Installous 4 has come into picture.

Installous 4 is an iPhone application that you can use to install pirated and cracked iOS software’s and games for free. It gives you acess to all the apps that come with a price tag for free. You can search for any iOS apps i.e. .ipa files and it also gives you access to directly download these .ipa files of various paid apps that you have to pay for on Apple store. The apps that installous provides are of course cracked versions of the original software’s and hence is considered illegal.

Hackulo.us, the inventors of Installous have come up with Installous 4.

How to install Installous 4 from Cydia:

  • First of all to install installous 4 on your phone you need to have a jailbroken iPhone.
Install installous 4
  • Open Cydia, and click on the “Manage” tab, after this select the “Sources”. In the sources add a new source as http://cydia.hackulo.us/
Installous 4
  • Now if you have already installed installous on your iphone then you just need to update it. Else install a fresh copy of Installous 4.
Installous 4 Installation

You can also check a video tutorial on how to install installous 4 on your device.

Features of Installous 4:

  • It has new improved graphics and speed.
  • New Home screen interface.
  • Mobile Hunt included.

Fast on the heels of its first UK smartphone, Panasonic has announced another top of the range mobile device. The Panasonic Eluga Power looks set to be one of the biggest smartphones on the market once it is released and Eluga Power mobile phone deals become available to buy. The Panasonic Eluga Running Ice Cream Sandwich, the latest version of Android, the device has a 5 inch HD LCD screen – almost the size of the Galaxy Note. It has a 1280 x 720 pixel resolution, possibly unsurprisingly for a technology firm like Panasonic one of the main selling points will be the camera on its back. An 8 megapixel camera that comes complete with autofocus, auto scene recognition and an 8 x zoom feature it also records video at 1080p HD quality. Under the bonnet the Panasonic Eluga Power smartphone has a Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor running at 1.5 GHz. Its internal memory is 8GB but this can be increased thanks to a microSD card. For connectivity there is Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi and a USB. There is also NFC capability. The mammoth Eluga Power comes quickly after the announcement of the Panasonic Eluga. Slightly smaller with a 4.3 inch screen it has a 540 x 960 pixel resolution It runs with a dual core 1GHz processor making it a solid mid to top range phone, if the UK market is taking quad-cores as standard now. It means it will be quick for browsing and opening apps. On the back it has an 8 megapixel camera and an LED Flash. Panasonic-Eluga The main selling feature for the Eluga is that it’s waterproof up to a depth of one metre for 30 seconds. While it’s unlikely you plan to make any calls underwater, it’s good for those who have noted that touchscreens tend to become unresponsive in the inclement British weather so this will be a nice touch for those who use their device on the go and don’t want to be afraid of a few raindrops. While the Eluga power will be shipped with Android 4.0, instead the Eluga comes with Android 2.3 gingerbread. It is however expected to get an update to the latest version of the operating system at some point after its launch in early spring. Launched before the Eluga Power, some UK users might have been tempted to look at the Eluga and think “so what?” but to launch two devices so quickly and for one of them to have the impressive specs of the Eluga Power suggests Panasonic is joining ZTE and Huawei in trying to make a real splash in the smartphone market in 2012. Offering choice is a good way of getting brand recognition out there, particularly for those who think Panasonic only do TVs or cameras, having two devices rather than one makes it look like we can expect more from the technology giant in the coming months. It is also worth noting that Panasonic is a London Olympic sponsor so perhaps we could expect app tie ins and technology crossover once the Games begin in July.

How to Prevent Your Mobile Phone from being Hacked http://www.geekrevealed.com/2012/03/how-to-prevent-your-mobile-phone-from-being-hacked.html http://www.geekrevealed.com/2012/03/how-to-prevent-your-mobile-phone-from-being-hacked.html#comments Mon, 12 Mar 2012 15:45:18 +0000 Ankit http://www.geekrevealed.com/?p=1459 Mobile phones are currently the most common technology gadget that can be found among humans in the world today, and that for good reasons too. Mobile phones are currently the most common technology gadget that can be found among humans in the world today, and that for good reasons too. If we take a look at how the mobile phone has evolved over the years we will notice that a lot of cool things have happened. Apart from receiving and dialing calls, it now has support for gaming, broadband internet, communication and even real-time features. Couple this with the fact that mobile phones are very cheap and affordable to everyone and you will see why people can hardly do without a mobile phone.

Prevent Your Mobile Phone from being Hacked

It is undeniable that day by day mobile phones are getting loaded with more and more features and while that is a good thing, but the problem is that it also comes with its own risk. How then would you protect your mobile phone and prevent it from being hacked, or even stolen? Based on my own personal experience I will be sharing few tips with you on how to prevent your Mobile Phone from being Hacked.

Use Strong Encryption/Password for Your Bluetooth

The wireless technology is growing in influence and popularity every year but one major problem is that it is also the most vulnerable part of mobile technology, both in regards to personal computers and mobile phones.

The Bluetooth technology is the wireless technology used by most mobile phones and while it has been designed in a way that it can be protected to ensure security, the cold hard truth is that it is also very vulnerable. The first step you can take to protect yourself in the case that someone is trying to hack your mobile phone wirelessly is to use strong encryption for your mobile phone. This means you should only use a secure pin you’re very sure of with your Bluetooth; don’t ever use the same pin that came with your mobile phone and ensure you are constantly changing your pin.

Always Switch Off Your Bluetooth when not Using It

Another step you should take to protect your mobile phone is to always switch off its Bluetooth functionality whenever you are not using. There are now several mobile apps that utilize the Bluetooth file sharing functionality to control files on a mobile phone. Most mobile hackers have it installed and regularly scan the vicinity for “open” Bluetooth devices. They now do a bit of reverse engineering to crack the password of the device; once they’re able to crack your password it becomes easy for them to get access to your device in the future.

Hacking your device via Bluetooth not only gives the hacker access to your multimedia files and folder, it also allows them to make calls under your device number and details (which can be used to incriminate you), it allows them to send SMS messages and it allows them to reset your phone or delete your files.

The solution in this case is to always switch off your Bluetooth and only put it on when you really need it.

Install a Mobile Security Software that You Alone Control

Another way to protect your mobile phone is by installing mobile security software that gives only you control of your mobile phone. A standard mobile security has many features including but not limited to:

  • Regularly scanning your mobile phone for viruses and malware.
  • Allowing you to control your mobile phone remotely in the event that it is stolen.
  • Giving tips and suggestions on what you’re doing right and what you’re doing wrong with your mobile phone.

Personally, I use the Kapersky mobile security software and it does the above and more. It also has a feature where I can easily block my phone remotely in the case that it has been hacked or stolen.

Your mobile phone might already have its own security software or you might want to take additional measures to make it even more secure. Make sure you always have mobile security software installed on your mobile phone.

Android phones are the best available phones in the market and the factor that attributes to their success is their brighter screen, faster processor and ability to support tons of apps. But these features are also responsible for draining your android battery faster. In this post I am going to list out all the possible ways you can use to improve your android phones battery life.

How to Save Battery on Android Phones

Tips to Save Battery on Android Phones :

1. The first thing I would suggest to improve your phones battery life is that always make a habit to close unnecessary apps running an your android phone because these apps drain your battery by increasing load on the processor and they also make your phone slow.

2. The biggest reason for draining battery on android phones is display. You can reduce this power loss by setting a shorter backlight timeout duration (backlight timeout duration is the time after which the screen backlight goes off)

3. Turn off your Bluetooth, Wi-Fi if they are currently not in use. GPS can also drain you phone battery faster so make a habit to turn it off after use.

4. Reducing you screen brightness can drastically improve your phones battery life.

5. If your device has AMOLED screens then try to use dark colour wallpapers and themes on your phone. AMOLED screens can trim down power usage sevenfold by displaying black instead of white or any other color.

6. Try not to activate vibrate feature in your phone as it may end up eating your phones battery a lot faster than any other feature.

7. Keep your phone in standby mode when you are not using it. This can be a very effective tip to cut down battery usage.

8. Install power management applications on your android phone, you can find many of them free of cost in android market.

9. Say a big no to “Live wallpaper” applications, as they consume more battery and processor resources.

10. There are few apps in your Android phone which keep on updating and sync. The built in email application can eat up your battery badly because it syncs with your email too frequently. So, in emergency situations when you are running short of battery you can reduce the frequency with which the phone checks your email. This goes for Facebook and twitter apps as well.

So, with these ten tips you can effectively save your android phones battery.

5 ) Your friend needs an app, however he/she does not have access to Android Market, so you want to help him\her out by sharing the app.
